Day 01

01:00 PM: Departure from Cusco. We will then travel by vehicle for approximately 2 hours to the Ollantaytambo train station. 4:00 PM: We arrive at the train station and immediately board the train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). The journey will last approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. During the trip, we will appreciate the beautiful landscapes of the Andes Mountains and the traditional villages along the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. 6:10 PM: We will arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes. Our staff will be waiting for us with a sign bearing our name, just like at the airport. We will then transfer to our accommodation (Premier Inn). You will have free time to explore the town of Aguas Calientes. In the evening, before bed, our guide will give a brief information session about the Machu Picchu tour we will be doing the following day. Overnight stay.

Day 02

06:00 AM Breakfast is served at the accommodation.

07:00 AM We´ll pick you up and take you to the bus station for your ascent to Machu Picchu. Here, our guided tour with a qualified guide will begin. This approximately 3-hour tour will explore the entire Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. We will visit the most important sites of the Sanctuary, such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sun Dial, the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Royal Cemeteries, and much more. Afterward, you will have free time to continue exploring, take photos, and enjoy the surrounding scenery.

At a convenient time, you will return to Aguas Calientes, either by walking (1 hour 10 minutes) or by bus (US$12). The decision will be made at the time of your visit. If you choose the bus, tickets are available for purchase on-site. Buses depart every 10 minutes.

You will have the afternoon free to enjoy a leisurely lunch, visit the hot springs or the town, and explore the artisan market. At the designated time: You will take the return train from the train station to Ollantaytambo. This journey takes approximately 2 hours. Afterward, we will continue with a bus that will bring you back to the city of Cusco, arriving around 6:30 PM.

What is the cancellation policy?

I cannot find my accommodation listed in the operator pick up locations when making my booking. What should I select?

This operator only offers pick-ups from the hotel and hostel accommodation listed, this covers over 90% of the accommodation providers in the area. They do not provide pick-ups or drop-offs at private residences, Airbnb, bus terminals etc. Select an alternative close by and be ready there for pick-up at the time on your booking confirmation.

How much is the tourist ticket?

There are 2 types of tourist ticket: – General tourist ticket, which has a cost of 130 soles and includes 16 attractions. Among them are Attractions of the city tour, the Sacred Valley, Maras – Moray, and some museums. – Partial tourist ticket, which has a cost of 70 soles, and includes only certain attractions depending on the tour that takes place: City Tour, Sacred Valley, and Maras – Moray.

How do I avoid altitude sickness?

Take Soroche (Diamox) pills, eat small meals, drink coca tea, drink lots of water, and avoid alcohol (it’s a dehydrator). The best way to avoid altitude sickness is to acclimatize yourself. The recommended approach for acclimatization is to ascend gradually, spending at least 24 hours at Your hotel.

Is the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu worth it?

The walk up to Machu Picchu can be seen as part of the experience. However, the bus is an option for those who are tired, The bus leaves every 15min from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu ($12 one / takes 30min)

Where is Huayna (Wayna) Picchu?

Huayna Picchu Mountain is the peak located to the north of Machu Picchu citadel. It is the backdrop to the classic image of Machu Picchu. The peak offers inspiring views of the ruins and 360° views of the area. The climb to the summit takes 45 minutes, it is a challenging trek and is very steep in parts. Limited to 400 a day, tickets must be purchased as a combo ticket at the same time as your entrance to Machu Picchu. This ticket cannot be purchased separately and is always in high demand.

What is Machu Picchu Mountain?

Machu Picchu Mountain is the peak located to the south-west of Machu Picchu citadel. The trek offers unparalleled sights of the ruins and panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. The trek is wide and well-marked. It is a moderate/challenging trek and takes 90 minutes to ascend. Limited to 400 a day, tickets must be purchased as a combo ticket at the same time as your entrance to Machu Picchu. This ticket cannot be purchased separately.

Can I have a private room if I travel alone?
